Writer's picture: CarolineCaroline

Fall is here, and there's nothing better than adding a touch of seasonal flavor to your favorite coffees, cocktails, and desserts. With just a few simple ingredients, you can create your own homemade syrups that will elevate everything from your morning latte to your evening cocktails. Best of all, I’ve created some adorable labels that you can print out for free to make gifting or storing your syrups even more special!

In this post, I’ll share my go-to recipes for Spiced Chai Syrup, Pumpkin Spice Syrup, Cinnamon Syrup, and Maple Syrup. Each one is easy to make and perfect for adding that cozy, fall flavor to your kitchen. These syrups also make great gifts—simply bottle them up, print out the free labels (linked below), and you’ve got the perfect homemade treat for friends and family.

1. Spiced Chai Simple Syrup

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup water

  • 1 cup brown sugar

  • 2 chai tea bags

  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract (optional, for extra warmth)

Instructions:

  1. Boil the water: In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a boil.

  2. Steep the tea: Once boiling, remove from heat and add the chai tea bags. Let the tea steep for 5-7 minutes to extract the strong chai flavor.

  3. Add sugar: Remove the tea bags and return the pan to medium heat. Add 1 cup of granulated sugar to the tea and stir until fully dissolved.

  4. Simmer: Let the mixture simmer for an additional 1-2 minutes, ensuring the sugar is completely dissolved and the syrup has slightly thickened.

  5. Add vanilla (optional): For extra warmth and depth, stir in 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract.

  6. Cool: Remove the syrup from heat and allow it to cool to room temperature.

  7. Store: Transfer the syrup to a jar or bottle and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

This chai spice syrup will add a cozy, spiced flavor to any fall drink or dessert!
